Match Schedule

Day 1 โ€” May 10th, 2026 ยท League Stage (6 Games)

Format: Round-robin league stage. Every team plays each other once. Points: Win = 3, Draw = 1, Loss = 0. Top 2 teams advance to the final on May 17th.

Tournament Rules

The official rulebook for Basecamp Cup 2026

1. Team & Squad

  • 7-a-side format โ€” each team fields 7 players at a time, including the goalkeeper
  • Each squad has 8 players, giving teams 1 substitute on the bench at all times
  • Unlimited substitutions are allowed throughout the match, as long as the playing side remains 7 on the field
  • Substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of play and must be acknowledged by the referee

2. Match Duration

  • League stage games (May 10): 2 halves of 15 minutes each, with a 5-minute halftime break
  • Final match (May 17): 2 halves of 20 minutes each, with a 5-minute halftime break
  • The referee controls the clock and may add stoppage time at their discretion

3. Referees

  • Each game will be officiated by a referee from a non-playing team
  • The referee's decision is final โ€” no arguing or disputing calls
  • Play to the whistle at all times
  • Captains are the only players permitted to respectfully ask the referee for clarification

4. Goalkeeper Rules

  • Backpass to the goalkeeper is allowed, but the keeper's use of hands depends on how the backpass was made:
    • Backpass with the foot (deliberate kick from a teammate): keeper cannot use hands โ€” must play with feet
    • Backpass using any other body part (head, chest, thigh, etc.): keeper can collect with hands
  • The keeper can also pick up the ball with their hands in these cases:
    • Making a save from an opponent's shot or attempted pass toward the goal
    • When an opponent kicks or deflects the ball in their direction (ball must be gathered first)
  • When the keeper catches the ball in open play (inside the field), they may distribute it freely โ€” throw, roll, or punt while holding
  • On a goal kick (after the ball goes out past the goal line), the keeper must place the ball on the ground first before kicking. No punting or kicking while holding on restarts.

5. Restarts

  • Kick-ins replace throw-ins when the ball goes out on the sidelines
  • A goal cannot be scored directly from a kick-in โ€” the ball must touch another player first
  • Free kicks are direct โ€” goals can be scored directly from a free kick
  • Goals from direct corner kicks are allowed

6. Fouls & Discipline

  • No sliding tackles allowed
  • No offside rule in this tournament โ€” players can position themselves anywhere on the field
  • No yellow or red cards โ€” this is a friendly internal tournament
  • No penalties for minor fouls inside the D (penalty area), except for:
    • Deliberate/intentional handballs inside the D โ€” penalty awarded
  • Persistent unsporting behavior may result in temporary removal from play at the referee's discretion
  • Zero tolerance for foul language, dissent, or aggressive behavior
  • Respect your teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators at all times

7. Final Match

  • The top 2 teams from the league stage advance to the final on May 17th
  • If the final ends in a draw after regulation, the following tiebreakers apply in order:
    • Extra Time: 2 halves of 5 minutes each, with a 1-minute break between halves
    • Penalty Shootout: If still tied after extra time โ€” best of 3 penalties per side, followed by sudden death if still tied

8. Player Conduct

  • Arrive on time and be ready 10 minutes before your scheduled kickoff
  • Wear proper soccer cleats or turf shoes โ€” no metal studs if the referee deems them unsafe
  • Shin guards are strongly recommended
  • Play hard, play fair, and have fun โ€” this tournament is about community and sportsmanship

9. Injuries & Safety

  • If a player is injured, play will be stopped immediately
  • Players cannot return to play without the referee's approval
  • Serious injuries should be reported to the board for follow-up
